The Lone (Very brave) Duck

With lots of very loud quacks this solitary wild hen mallard duck was searching for scraps of food from passers by on the cobbles in Canon Square, Retford, Nottinghamshire. She was quite tame and approached me when called to see what if anything I had for her. Is she the herald of a mass invasion by ducks of public squares the world over just like her cousins the pigeons or are ducks just too table-worthy? Does any other member know of any other wild ducks visiting public urban spaces looking for food so far from water?
