Yes Sixpence, I used last years recycled veggie matter incorporated into the soil. It must be rich, because the fig tree next to the Poppy has 30 figs growing on it.

Can't beat good homemade compost,can you ? This is is when you notice how well everything is growing.plus the nice weather of course...

Yes Bloomer. The hard winter may have had a part to play. I read somewhere, after a really harsh winter, the summer gardens bloom prolifically... With a does of homemade nutrients of coarse...
