Well it was poor soil when I started but it does gets a feed about every other year. It is also growing close to a large shrub which probably gobbles up most of the goodness. This is quite a lax plant and I think a rich soil would make it grow too lush and need staking so I would err on the side of 'poor' but without completely starving it

I got conflicting info on this when I looked it up one said poor soil the other good soil. Which do you grow it in?
