Sisyrinchium striatum

Sisyrinchium striatum (Sisyrinchium striatum)

These are lovely upright plants, but they do seed themselves! Luckily, they're easy to control.

Well - we can't all love the same plants, can we, or our gardens would be identi-kits! LOL.

Yup! that's so true. It's also interesting how your tastes change as you get more experienced, and learn the growing habits of some plants!

Yes - I hadn't 'met' S. striatum before we came here. I find it useful as an 'accent' plant. It seems to go with everything!

Good colour for that!

It's also soooo easy to propagate...so other people get a bit, too. :-)

I love ours because it sits with the ferns and adds some colour....

I like 'Aunt May' but she isn't as hardy as the 'ordinary' one, nor does she seed herself. I had five, but only two came through the winter. :-((((

This looks like a slightly different form from the "blue eyes" that grow wild in my garden. love the colour.

It is indeed - it's about 3' tall, Lori! I wish I could send you a piece. I think you'd like it. :-))

Wow! that is a bit bigger than I was envisioning...lol.
