So far so good. The grass is holding up well, though moss is more and more of a problem during the winter, what with milder, wetter winters in Scotland.
I have started using an organic fertiliser that also removes moss. Its called MoBacter. The potassium in the granules of MoBacter kills th moss without turning it black and then bacteria, also in the granules, start to consume it at 10 degree temps or greater. So far I am very impressed. And there is no requirement to scarifiy either.

I've written that down Dave we have a lot of moss , there wasn't much grass left after we scarified it in the spring ....

I know what you mean Amy. Because our front garden is on the least sunny side of the house there was a lot of moss at the base of the little walls. After reading about MoBacter organic fertiliser and moss eater, I spinkled it liberally on all the moss I could find. 8 weeks on and the moss is gone and the grass has grown back up to the walls. I have to say I am quite impressed.
