What is water butt?

It's a big outdoor tank you connect up to the guttering so that the rain that falls on your roof gets diverted in to the tank so you can use it to water the plants.

Oh, what a great explanaton in English , I learned a lot of new expressions. Thank you. Yes, I know now what you mean. I had one, but it cracked, as it was plastic and I left water in it during the winter. Must buy new one now.
