Strong wind has played havoc with my Nigra Bamboo

From the looks of it, if the pot is less than 50 cm wide and deep, it could stand to be moved up, too. I would do that in early spring.

Try taking all the lower leaves off each bamboo cane up to about 3ft. This then shows off the fantastic black canes (which is usually the reason people buy these). Also cut off at ground level any really skinny canes. The reason for this is that bamboo canes stay the thickness as they started. Not like a tree, where the trunk gets thicker as it grows. Only keep the thick strong canes. Then keep him somewhere sheltered.
