Has someone taken out the fibres a a cloth and made a flower out of it? Very beautiful.

It's a great little flower!

It is lovely, how small is it?

The flower itself is about 20/25mm across. The plant trails 20cm or so.

That's a huge flower for the size of plant!

I like it's frilly edges, very different - they are the dianthus connection?

About a tenth of the plant, but it looks less as they poke out from beneath the foliage.

Unrelated to Dianthus too. It's another South American native.

South America has amazing plants, as does south Africa.

I seem to be getting quite a collection of South American plants - some of the Bomarea seeds have germinated, so that is something to look forward to next year!

Excellent.

You could do a whole blog on your south American plants!

Need to learn how to care for them first!

Research for blog! ?
