I've had canna which had very gaudy leaves by comparison...I love the blueish leaves!

Thanks Wally, all my cannas live in a perfect water quaility koi pond living on koi poo - so what else would you expect lol
Yes Lori the bluish leaves is again common to the yellow and pink - though taney is a bigger beast and more banana like in growth and colour - hence is the only one yet to flower (needs to be at 6 feet or so before it thinks about it!)

The variety I bought is labelled a "dwarf", it only grows to six feet!

The Cannas are the harder ones to look after for the winter as they need to be wet (they are after all water cannas lol) and frost free to protect the all important rhizomes.
last year they all spent the winter in trays of water in my parent's conservatory, but i don't think they want to repeat that with even more this time so I will be keeping them in a heated greenhouse alongside some of my Colocasias that I want to keep growing.
Black magic will simply be brought into the house as there is no way it should be let go dormant as it's the most reluctant to re-emerge afterwards

Thanks - If I took a pic this weekend you'd not
say that now frost has ravaged some of the leaves but not to worry they will be off to their newly constructed winter home by the onset of cold weather, as long as the roots don't freeze they will live to fight another day :-)
