Gomphocarpus

Gomphocarpus (Gophocarpus physocarpus 'Hairy Balls')

This may look nice in the catalog, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Highly invasive, and after the ball dries, it bursts open like a giant dandilion, spreading wind-borne seeds everywhere. Butterfly catapillars like it.

I've regretted this one myself, Wylie! Fortunately, I think the desert summer helped me to remove it, eventually.
