This kind of homework I like :) Do you know if the Hosta is the one called " Janet " ?

This hosta is fabulous. I don't know the name but I just posted a closeup of the plant. The leaves are very large on a mature plant. Dark green with a little medium green on the edges, lime green in the centre. Fantastic.
A lady a few blocks away was selling some plants at her garage sale last year and we happened on it late and she didn't have any more of this variety to sell.. we were driving down her street last Friday looking for landscaping ideas, and she was having a 'pre garage sale'.. she had one of these hostas ready for a friend of hers. She sold it to me because she felt badly that I missed out on it last year too (woohoo!)... it's for my parents though. I got another chunk of the same hosta when I went back to her place for a few more plants and she happened to dig more it up. I was lucky to get it at all - she sold her house and is moving, so there won't be another opportunity.
I compared it to your Janet hosta pictures.. I don't think it's the same variety..

I'm sure that there must be a few varieties with the dark green edges and the lime green centers. I have a few clumps of the " janet " and they tend to be a little brighter depending on their location. Regardless of what the names might be they sure are great. They contrast so well with some of the other Hosta. ENJOY !
