Thank u!
To the left of the fountain there are bags of stone to go around the bottom like the other one he has in the side part of the garden.
But he is off for a galavant to Europe soon for 5 weeks so he is not in the mood I guess. I'll be on his case when he gets back.

Couldn't you do it for him? Nice suprise on his return.

Oh no! I think he wants some lights put in first and I don't mess with what Clients want to do themselves. If it was just putting down the stones I would have done it.

I see what you mean !!

Well, I asked my clients about the stones, seems he was just not in the mood, so I ended up putting down the stones, sure looks much better now.

Yes, indeed u did Grandmage! Seems now he has me he doesn't want to do much of anything. He bought me a nice new hose reel this week. I was delighted w/it as hoses are my bone on contention in the garden. As I was finished w/the gardening I asked if he was going to hook it up or would he like me to. The reply, Welllll I'm not going to do it w/my shoulder the way it is.
I hadn't know he had a problem, that might explain the stones, I was glad to hook it up as time is $$$. :-)
However his new dog is digging up the plants as quickly as I can plant them. :-( I think his master has had enough at this point and is not letting her outside w/out him or on a leash. :-)
It's just too disheartening trying to build a nice garden when dogs are digging it up.

I have a big Phoenix Italia fountain & intend putting it into a corner like you have done here. Waiting for my husband to put in a concrete pad for it to sit on, as immensely heavy even without water in it. As I live in New Zealand, & it is a semi-shaded corner, I intend to plant ferns of various types around the base. I love the way you have climbers on the wall behind .... I have a climbing rose along one wall, but am now thinking I will put in another climber on the other wall, as you have done. You have turned that corner into something both elegant & inviting.

Yes Grandmage, it's disheartening and damnnnnnnn frustrating, but it does keep me in work. However, now the man of the house expects me to tend the garden, no matter what needs to be done in 2 to 2 & 1/2 hrs. It's absolutely insane! It can't be done. That's the trouble with non gardeners they haven't got a clue how long it take to garden properly.

Thanks Dwyllis.
However they are not vines but trees planted against the wall and a Purple Potato Vine shrub to the right.
This fountain has a big cement area under it too and I think a stark wall need something to defuse the bareness.

However, I'm working on pots to go up on the wall with plants to drape down. I would like to put in some ferns too but I have an impossible task of trying to convince my client the importance of amend and bark. He just doesn't get it. The need or the amend. It's frustrating. Wish I had my own garden to be working on.
