Amaryllis belladonna

Also known as Boys-to School in Portugal because they bloom about the time kids go back to school in the fall. Also Naked Ladies because the flowers come up before the foliage. This South African native is a member of the Amaryllis family and shouldn't be confused with the Hippeastrum cultivars who have the common name of Amaryllis.

Still waiting for ours, Wylie. They usually wait for the nights to get cooler here--maybe late September, early October.
