magnolia?

I wondered that...but in real life the blooms look like they have been carved out of wood..they are so..sort of firm looking. Not like the soft cups of petals of a "normal" magnolia.

its the seed head and the leaves that look magnolia ~ you could always put it on the question section and see what the experts say?
the magnolias in italy looked quite different from ours so i think there are lots of different types.
