Rose Terrace and Bodnant House
Comments on this photo
Hi Johnjoe, not sure what you want to know but will start with the obvious. Bodnant Gardens in North Wales, near Conwy. It runs alongside the Conwy river and at some high points you can actually see out over Conwy Bay (one of the pics I posted) It has a very long and tricky woodland walk (also shorter and good paths for the not so knacky). We did the tricky one couple years back but not sure if I could tackle now (my mate Arfer Itis). May spectacular tree varieties (not my best subject) and shrubs like the Kalmia and Rhodos.Three main water features the old Mill and Cascade (dont know about mill origins), the Canal at Pin Wheel Mill and the very large pool just below the house. They had 17 gardeners back then. The Rose Garden on lower terrace below house was pretty spectacular, as was the Terrace overlooking the Pin Wheel Mill. They have a web site and there was a BBC 4 part programme on Bodnant. If you ever get the chance to go, and you have a car, stay at Bangor Travelodge. From there you can visit Plas Newydd, Portmerion, Conwy Castle and Carnarvon Castle as well as Swallow Falls and Snowdon. Spent a great 5 days there. Hope this answers your questions.
