Oh that is so funny.....

This was at Berkeley Castle not H Ampner Cinders. They do have an avenue of yews (I think its yew) along the walk at the back of the house. We really enjoyed our visit, there is a lovely little church in the grounds too. We went in the spring when the tulips were out, it was a stunning display. The house was good too, not THAT old (rebuilt after fire) but classy, quietly elegant and comfortable.
Btw my OH says it wasnt funny, it made his back ache holding it up! hee hee
