I know gladiolus is not everyones favourite, but I do like them. Dotted around in a border discreetly supported among softer plants I do think it adds something. I grew most of mine in pots this year for cutting, but they got wiped out with rust. The single ones in the border fared better. I hate them in straight little rows. This one is a beauty, looks in prime health which is more than mine were!
