There is also a white-flowered form (which I have as well) which should be in flower soon too. I just give a light mulch over the roots in late autumn and keep my fingers firmly crossed

I agree with Greenthumb; not after last winter. It's always a pleasant suprise when plants prove us wrong re - hardiness.
