Opie's new digs...

this is brilliant Lori, ticks all the box's for me. Flora & Fauna combined. I have two tropical fish tanks right next to my computer which fascinate me. I am totally into the science & chemistry of it ie: water quality, biological & mechanical filtration to get the 'cycle' going just right before fish are considered to complete the habitat, plus well cared for illuminated tanks look so much better than a vase on a shelf eh? :-))
As a kid I would spend my summers walking the heathlands of Devon watching lizards & snakes by the reservoirs & sitting on the banks watching the fish etc, most certainly heaven in Devon.

Thanks Mushy... I will post a few more as the plants settle in..forgot to mention this is a home for the gecko's food (crickets) too... In his old aq..they used to sing so loudly it would wake me up.. snow three feet deep outside and I'm awake because of the crickets!!! Space was limited to just Opie's needs in the old aq...but this one is going to mean that Opie will have to "hunt" for his crickets! lol...
Thanks Bizzyb! Sounds like a wonderful youth in Devon. I was raised beside Muskoka Lake....very long cold winter but glorious summers and lots of wildlife (especially in tourist season) ;-) Wow...all that science. I guess it's a bit like what I do..only I let nature take the science... but it has it's snags...(like the algae in my pond)...Gives us plenty to think about tho', aye?
