If it's like this one Daylily, it will probably be next year. They whiten up very quickly and the outer bark just peels off like tissue paper. Underneath is lovely and white. I had just peeled off the outer stuff when I took this pic. It was almost falling off, just had to finish it off.

Yes, aren't they beautiful? And they cast hardly any shadow at all...so light and airy. Lovely trees. Catkins in the winter, lovely white bark in the winter too and the birds seem to love them as well.

thanks karen, mine is jaquemontii silver shadow which i think has larger leaves, recently got it in the ground, it looks great already, will have to get some pics on soon :^)

i have just bought one of these, how long do you think it will be before nice white bark, its like a pale beigey colour at the moment and white at the bottom of the trunk
