Kings Cross Skip Garden

Next to the Stanley Building you will now find the
King’s Cross Central Skip Garden, a self-sustaining vegetable garden with a twist – it’s moveable. As different areas in King’s Cross Central (KXC) are developed, the skips will be moved to new locations and continue to produce their harvest of vegetables.
The Skip Garden has been created and gardened by volunteers from the Guardian and the Observer, young people from the area and construction apprentices. The site and materials have been provided by KXC, BAM, BAM Nuttall, Carillion and Kier. The hoardings were designed by illustrator, Lucy Rodgers, and painted by a group of KXC and Global Generation volunteers. Global Generation (GG), part-funded by the Big Lottery, is managing the project and directing the gardening.
The project is part of GG’s network of sites that are
helping to create a productive, bio-diverse and social ecology in King’s Cross. GG is supporting young people
to play a pivotal role in transforming cities and the way we live in them.

Yes, I thought so too. I was really pleased that we were in London at that time, and were able to visit these special gardens. Another one was the Highbury New Park Project for homeless people, in 88 Highbury New Park, Islington N5 2DJ, run by Single Homeless Project Islington,

I lived 15 minutes away from that Postcode back in the 70s....There is a park there, I have forgotten it's name, it was a very big park, lots went on there, lovely park to hang out in.

Hi Michaella,
Could it perhaps be the Camley Street National Park? We also visited this one, and it looks lovely indeed! And so close to St. Pancras Station! One would never expect it there!
I have some photos of it, I will post them one of these days.
