wow I have rarely got any seed from them. I find them easy but they dont like the cold. so whilst I like the idea of them in the conservatory I dont htink OH will have the heating on all the time. They dont seem to mind shade and I have them on an east/north windowsill. Have you tried one in your current home then? you might be pleasantly surprised.

Nope! It's way to dark in this house! Good for the cooling bills, but it's hard to grow any indoor plants except things like Sanseveria and Aspidistras. Somewhat frustrating!

oh that is such a shame. I have a lovely aspidistra in the bathroom and it is happy in the shade which is just as well really.

All those lovely African Violets! I wish I could grow them better, but they don't like the heat in my house--I can't afford the air conditioning bills if I set the thermostat below 28 deg. C. I grew one from seed, once, that did pretty well, but a plant sitter killed it while I was on vacation. I wanted to have a funeral! Alas. The house I'm in now is too dark anyway.
