Yellow flower or weed?

How tall is it?

It's about six inches now. But I'm pretty sure like Wagger in next photo suggested it's a type of buttercup.

i have something similar but more orangy yellow Alex, cant think of name though, very pretty

Isnt it funny how you can see buttercups all summer but you never look at one closely. Thank you Alex..quite an eye opener!

You're welcome Margo. My mom insisted it was a weed but the plant looked too compact. Got me really curious. It's pretty.
