it's not exactly finished yet, Karen...but within a week it will be ours... I can't wait. Hi Sandra...yes I'm trying not to get ahead of myself but I'm hoping we can go and walk the perimeter pretty soon! will be moving last week of December...so I'm praying for a very mild December. In distance it would be like moving from Sussex to the Hebrides!

Oh my goodness, that's a long way to us brits! Are you moving further north Lori? Wow, that valley looks lovely and that lake is stunning! ARe you going to take Gillian Blades?

Yes I am...but perhaps you have a point...I have a friend on the street that I could give her to...good idea..thanks.
It is in a part of the province that is higher altitude and an area that is colder away from the mellowing influence of the Great Lakes. She might not survive there..but it is still at a lower latitude than London!! lol...

Ooops! sorry, I wasn't hinting about Gillian, just wondered if you were taking her as I love her so much and I know you are also fond! I hadn't thought about hardiness, but I think it would be worth a try Lori, in a sheltered south facing spot!

I needed a reality check, tho, Karen. I must thank you, because I'm not sure I want to risk losing her, especially since we'll be moving in mid winter...whereas, if I give her to my friend I can always come back next spring and get some roots!

What a good idea....you are clever Lori!

LOL!... I'm the person moving house and garden in the middle of winter...would you like to reconsider that, Karen??

I did the same thing when we came here Lori! Jan 27th 2006. We had freezing fog for a whole week and I got sciatic nerve trapped from lifting all the boxes!

I really sympathize... I pulled a hamstring, and I was unable to sit comfortably for months...and walking was another story. Went to the gym and worked on it, but it was a full six months before I was pain free.

looks beautiful Lori...good luck with your move

It's shocking how long it takes to recover as you get older! I was also three months before I could sit comfortably and about five before i could say I was pain free!

Thank you Elsiemay! There is a blog in the making here..but it will be a few months before it is all settled and I can start making real plans.
Time really gets away on a person once you top the rise of 50 or so... This summer seemed about two weeks long to me..but the calendar says it was 3 months! That's why my personal motto is: Tempus fugit...Carpe diem!
Time flies...seize the day!~

Now that's what I call a view - I'd love to sit here

This view was taken from the Madawaska Road, Paul. Our new place is about five miles from this view, near a small lake. It's gorgeous country. We have a few acres with the house. I'm trying not to get excited and carried away...we still have to pack and move yet.

Hope all goes well for you :)
