Yes I agree Lily. Ours has thawed now thank goodness! Hope we don't get any more. Have you had much in Berkshire? My daughter used to live in Reading (Lower Earley) before she emigrated to Aussie, do you know it?

About 3" I think Lin but all gone now thank goodness, it's good to have a couple of days respite from the extreme cold even if it is forecast to return. :o( Yes I know Lower Earley, only about 7 or 8 miles away, you must miss your daughter a lot.

Yes we do Lily, but we're always contacting each other and send photos and videos from the camcorder. They were over last year for about 10 weeks last year including Christmas when we had all the snow, which really pleased them as the grandchildren had hardly ever seen 'proper' snow that they could really remember and they were 16 and 13 then. They were very lucky that they could get back home, but weather had improved slightly then. It was lovely to see them all.

I suppose you get used to them being so far away. Of course travel and communications are so much better now that it's much easier to have contact with them, do you use Skype? Mine are all so near, within 4 miles, that I find it hard to imagine not having them all around. Although it occasionally feels like a mixed blessing I wouldn't wish it otherwise. :o)
