Memories of last summer

That's a really beautiful shot. This morning I've moved two roses out of soggy boggy and into better place, planted a dwarf conifer, planted 3 raspberry bushes, pruned the lonicera halliana and the photinia Camilvy, and taken some pics. Now I'm waiting for the batteries to recharge so I can down!AND I've had my hair cut! busy, busy, busy....who has time for work? lol ;))

lovely reminder of things to come Annella

25 Jan, 2011

Agree lovely reminder

25 Jan, 2011

Yes, it is a lovely reminder of what's to come, and we need that at this awful soggy, dead looking time of year!

25 Jan, 2011

I was sure yesterday was Blue Monday, I've hit rock bottom...no energy and still have to work...worst time of the year for me, and I need my roots doing Karen!!
These pics are to cheer me up not you lot Lol x

i love that blue shrub at the back anne, my neighbour has one but not has big, love the strong colour :o)

25 Jan, 2011

Lovely garden Annella, and love your colour scheme, and your steps..I have steps too,but sadly a wall either side of them,so can't have your lovely effect..I put troughs on it,and pots down the steps, but it hasn't the same effect..If its any consolation,my highlights need doing too..so you are not alone,my dear..

Bloomer I feel grey and yuk + I am struggling to do anything about it....San the shrub is Ceanothus 'Yankee point' one I would recomend and it's still trying to flower now after all that bad weather! Bring me sunshine....Please

25 Jan, 2011

thanx anne, im fed up with cold miserable weather to, need sun rays

25 Jan, 2011

All my get up and go,has gone too...Its definitely this weather..managed a morning in the garden yesterday, which felt great, but another dank miserable day today..

25 Jan, 2011

thats just how i feel sandra, had more than enough :o(

25 Jan, 2011

Cheer me up girls, please...day off tommorow but that's to have what I think will be a very expensive MOT on my car :-((

25 Jan, 2011

what a gorgeous picture..gosh thats excellent work, truelly..

as for the day off..treat yourself for sure, lunch somewhere indulgent, buy a new trowel and book in for a colour..

25 Jan, 2011

Thanks Guy but it means walking into Wellingborough after I drop the car off and getting a taxi home...nothing nice in town I'm afraid, but on the plus side lots of my lovely friends are hairdressers and have sunbeds so no excuse to not brighten up.....just need to make the effort
Glad you like the pic, I've worked on that bottom corner with a clematis that should cover all the fence in this years pics :o))))

25 Jan, 2011

Hairdo and Sunbed....just what you need! Oh Annie, cheer up, it will soon be brighter. What about a pot of daffodils like the one in my last photo? That always helps me! And there's always the cinema or a good dvd curled up in front of the fire with a nice throw to snuggle up in. Or...a nice long walk, whatever the weather...looking for signs of swelling buds and snowdrops in other people's gardens....or...a good novel, a cheery one, Maeve Binchy or similar!....Chocolate? lol Xx

25 Jan, 2011

its lovely my friend..can i ask, is the blue bush at the back a calafornia lilac?..

i hope you find a way to lift your spirits

25 Jan, 2011

Yes (you are Gary now) it's Yankee point.. Californian lilac. Karen In the words of Bridget Jones 'I choose vodka'!!!!!!!!

25 Jan, 2011

NOOOOOOO!! (In my imagination I leap toward the bottle and snatch it away in the nick of time!) Alcohol is a depressant Annie, put that bottle down and pick up the chocolate! dark chocolate is a stimulant...much better and calories are similar if you think about it!! ;))))

25 Jan, 2011

Fair enough,Annella, but wait till you have dropped the car off.Lol.Hope all goes well with the MOT,and hope it isn't as bad or expensive as you seem to think...good luck, and try and have a nice day off, whatever you do..

25 Jan, 2011

is vodka allowed on a sunbed?

25 Jan, 2011

only if you want to choke! That was one of the things I always used to get on at my children for...trying to drink lying down...thankfully not vodka! That's what they drink nowadays and hopefully I have taught them to sit up when imbibing! lol ;)

25 Jan, 2011

I'm afraid the car has failed on needing 4 new tyres (ouch) and they won't be in till tomoz so off again On the bright side my hair is being done in the morning.

26 Jan, 2011

Oh no, four, oh dear!

26 Jan, 2011

MOT commiserations

26 Jan, 2011

Thank you friends...My lovely neighbour Sharon has an equally lovely husband called Richard and he is a manager for a very well know tyre and mot co......a big help in this situation.
My friends salon has stand up sun beds so never any chance that I would choke drinking vodka!!!!! Not that I've ever tried.....She has the feet nibbling fish now but not sure I want to try that one ;000))))

26 Jan, 2011

Oooh, you should! My daughter had it done in Edinburgh and she said it was great!

26 Jan, 2011

It's just the thought of them Karen!!!!

26 Jan, 2011

Me too!

26 Jan, 2011

Ladies..please !!! I'm eating my mackerel salad

26 Jan, 2011

I love fish too...not sure I could eat it after that :o)))

26 Jan, 2011

She said it tickled like mad to begin with but you soon got used to it and it was very relaxing. Her boyfriend and his mum both had it done as well.....tee hee, imagine that! all three of them sitting with their feet in a fish tank being tickled together.....think I'll stick to my foot file!

26 Jan, 2011

I hate my feet being touched at the best of times!!

26 Jan, 2011

Ah, you're one of those folks! My daughter hates her hair being touched, which I find a bit strange. I quite like a nice foot massage myself, and a head massage...bliss!

27 Jan, 2011

Sorry about the MOT,Annella..its surprising how the bad weather has taken its toll on tyres this year..but at least you will be safe on the road, and coupled with having your
roots done, you and your car will both be happy..sorry you can't say the same for your purse....a bit of overtime at work, maybe ???

27 Jan, 2011

Lovely setting Annella, not sure I could manage the steps drunk of course..would hate to fall on the flower bed..so would you, I would flatten ALL of it lol! Hope you are feeling prettier, tannier and able to drive home now. Just think of all the gardens you can safely drive to this summer, oh no..forgot about the vodka!

28 Jan, 2011

Blonder now but the tan will have to wait till next week. I don't do the steps after too many drinks

28 Jan, 2011

love the steps leading up and overlooking the plants, flowers- great garden too

7 Mar, 2011
