Save your heathers

Save your heathers

This is an update of the photo on page seven No. 24 in my photo album. It shows how a neglected heather was saved and has spread from last Spring to this year. I planted it covering all of the brown straggly stems which had not been properly pruned and it has grown roots along the bare stems and sent up lots of fresh growth.

I have the plants i will just need to work out a way of regenerating them. I find small plants establish better than larger versions. I always buy the smaller ones where possible.

That is great Sheila, yes they do seem to do better when small than big, Some years ago, I got 2 big ones and several small ones the small ones are doing better than the big ones.
