the single coum leaf can be seen in the pot left of the picture.
Of course the form may be variable or even cross with coum, not sure about that

sorry that leaf is placed there for andrewr to see the difference in the two plants,small is C.Alpinum larger leaf is taken from a plant of C. Coum

good lord have you got that coum on steroids. Love the alpinum and a lot easier to spell than trochopetranthum!

There are a lot bigger coum leaves in the garden.

Just been looking through your pics Bjs, you have some lovely alpine plants & bulbs. I'm a member of the Cornwall branch but it's a bit too wet here for alpines outside & my greenhouse is very old & gets damp. I too love snowdrops had a quick look at Pine Lodge gardens today they have masses & attending a lecture there next week by Mick Maratin.

Pam do not know Mick maratin is he there local expert.
as for alpines I grow a lot of them in frames only covered on top if you leave your glass house so the wind blows through end to end most would be OK ,you do get winds i have witnessed them, lol

as good for their leaves as well as the flowers, a firm favourite. Interesting & healthy large leaf in the same pot. I like it when that happens, gets you thinking how did that happen?
