my recent purchase.....looks FANtastic! not sure whether it will be planted in the ground or a jumbo planter! any suggestions? oh the wheelie bin will not be part of the scenery!!

thanks...it will fine from april-october then protected in fleece jacket over winter....i'm not taking any chances! it would probably be ok down to about -2 but its the frost that could do the damage! besides in winter it looks like a giant snowman :-)

I would also protect the roots a lot of palms even covered and protected have died over this winter.

hi sixpence...i presume you mean that the pot is protected from the underside to avoid contact with the ground?

Yes that too as cold travels up from the ground I would pack it with polystirene too the stuff that comes in boxs, you can get it so its floppy stuff I ve seen it, also where ever the root ball is if left outside

Lol its a shame really with our sever frost and coldness from the Boltic these past few years, so no I would nt chance it and yes I would do the same thing, have you got the Ravens there too like the tower holding the crown jewels lol.
