Typhonodorum lindlyanum mature plants

Typhonodorum lindlyanum from South Africa in 50 litre pots. One is in simple topsoil, I was informed by the nursery where they came from that it's the natural growing medium (in North Madagascar) due to the continual erosion of the land then rain washing copious amounts of topsoil into the watercourses it grows in. The other one is planted in a 50/50 by volume mix of sphagnum moss and Profile 'Greens'. LariAnn Garner of Aroida Research in the USA recommended using a calcined clay product called Turface, but I cannot source that in the UK, only via ebay from the USA where shipping is $50 alone. Profile meanwhile I can get here as it's traditionally used on golf courses to assist drainage. An interesting study at Purdue University in the USA growing rice found that this product interestingly outperformed Turface in growth height. It will be interesting to see how these two mature Typhonodorum specimens perform alongside one another. I have two 100 litre pots without holes for them to sit in to then be filled with nutrient based water. I have two water butt taps to put in these pots to be able to drain them efficiently, as the nutrient water has to be replaced weekly to get air to the roots.
