Sorry for such a late reply Vincent. Thank you. This is one my good lady bought about 6 or 7 years ago, it's been moved around a few times but never fails to put on a good show (with the help of a bit of Fish, blood and bone).
I love the older varieties - I picked up a couple of very dark blue unwanted ones from one of my customer's the other day ... looking forward to popping them out in the Autumn - somewhere :)

I agree about the old forms, the new ones are a bit gaudy and difficult to place with other plants, unless you go for the 'full on' effect.

Lovely dainty flowers. My mother used to grow A. vulgaris, the old 'Bishop's Caps'. The colour range now is fantastic.
