Think I might invest in a Dicentra - had one but never liked it, will have to try again.

There are quite a few to choose from. I went off the pink one, which I had in my old garden and now I much prefer the white. I do have two smaller growing ones with lovely ferny foliage. They are lovely too.

I wouldve thought it was quite unusual to see both in full flower at the same time?

Well, it's a late narcissi Tetrarch, and I think here in Angus everything lasts longer than down south as it is cooler. It's one of the good things about Scotland....spring lasts longer.

What Spring? We blinked and it came and went...

What a shame Tetrarch! I love spring so much! We are right in the depths of it now. Almost all the leaves are on the trees, though the beeches are only just coming out, and my Cercis Canadensis is still bare, as is my Itea. They are just beginning to break bud now. The early cherries are over now but the lilacs are only just beginning. The Acers are at their full spring freshness. Yes, its late spring time in Scotland, and to make it even better we've had almost constant sunshine like you,but much cooler, since the end of March! Wonderful! Makes up for that winter...almost!! lol :))

Gosh Tetrarch, you are way ahead of us here. Thanks Annie, it is fresh as you say, especially with the water droplets.

thank you DD, the border here is only just beginning to mature now. I've been pretty unhappy with it until now, but it is really filling out, especially since we added two more rhodys last year (one of which is the bronze leaved shrub in the background and it's about to burst in to bloom). They give some structure to it all. the roses etc. are growing well, so I'm hoping that in future this will be a bit more than just a spring border! It's taken a lot of thought and fiddling to get it in to shape!
