I planted this pretty shrub earlier this year to help hide the poor Pampas grass. It's in flower now.

Now I do envy you growing this, because not only do I love Philadelphus, (used to grow them in our old larger garden) but there is no way we could grow them here, we do grow the yellow leafed one but keep it small, and the perfume is delightful.

Why can't you grow them DD? I have one, Belle Etoile. The scent of it fills the whole garden when it flowers.....fantastic, and relatively compact. Mine is only about 3-4 feet after four years.

Well - I wish I'd found this one before. It's much prettier than the plain green ones. It looks good up on the bank, too. :-)
Maybe Dd means that her garden can't take more than one Philadephus??

Spritz is right I do not have the room for any more shrubs, if I redesign the garden, perhaps I could squeeze another couple in?
