Viburnum trilobum... flowers usually much larger..6 to 8 inches across on average.

The blooms are lovely, reminds me of a lacecap hydrangea. I'll bet it's best attribute is the fragrance, so many plants now, have no fragrance.

Yes they have a very sweet fragrance but it is quickly dispersed...I have three different trees/shrubs in my garden that bloom in succession from early May - ( Amur Maple,) mid-May to early June -( Viburnum Trilobum and V.Arrowood).and early to mid June -( Russian Olive.)..each has it's turn and smells wonderful. Fragrance is a must as far as I am concerned because it seems the further from the original the plant is the less smell it has...this is true of roses, too, I've noticed.

These blossoms where smaller than the previous year, but much more numerous!.... I think the flowers were small because of all the digging and disturbed earth around it's roots when I was redoing the pond... Hoping that the coming season will be ok as it was severely pruned by an early winter ice storm...poor viburnums suffered.
