Huge crop last year - we only salvaged TWO from the resident squirrels!

I went on an RHS course and was told that a walnut tree should NEVER be planted near apple trees! Too late - this walnut tree is very near a mini-orchard of apple trees in my garden, but doesn't seem to have harmed anything (so far). This walnut tree has not grown very fast, but the squirrels get the benefit of all the nuts.
