First flower on this rose this year, and it seems to have blown a little, think the dry weather and the wind have affected it badly, again it is a little on the straggly side

I am thinking of going that way with them, they are very leggy - just need support, will have a look at them next time I go to gc and see what kind they have.

...or make your own! I took out my Gertrude Jekyll because it was so straggly and I'm not fond of that real pinky pink. I like my pinks with a hint of blue in them....surprise, surprise.

this is by itself, nothing much in that border so it doesn't really clash with anything, I don't dislike pink, but I know what you mean about colours not mixing for you. I have an any colour goes metallity so it does not really matter for me.

Nope, I just don't like a sugary pink at all. The other one I took out was Zepherine Drouhin....similar but even pinker!

I have that one also, it is doing well since I moved it.

Some of the DA roses tend to be a bit leggy don't they. I grow some of mine up the fence, and others I use obelisks on to give them some support. I saw some wonderful willow obelisks at Chelsea, really cottagey. That would look lovely in your garden.
