I have just discovered that there is a flower growing in the same place that is called false Solomon's Seal...it has tiny yellowish green flowers that form beneath the leaves, much like the pic you posted on your blog about your camera! found it today and it's raining...so will try to get a pic to post when the weather clears.

I think this is the false (Smilacina stellata), Lori, with the flowers at the end of the stalk, and the one with the dangling flowers below the leaves is the other (Polygonatum Commutatum).

I have to get up the trail and get a pic of the P.commutatum...before they're over. The two plants are practically side by side. The false one is much larger, however. Thanks Grammazoo. Camera seems to go through batteries very quickly...
