I don't have any Delphinium, but my closely related Aconitums are also very tall this year.

yes it's probably the amount of sun they have got this year, been very dry and sunny.. i like aconites but my kids may touch them so i will have to wait till the youngest one is older..

There sinister look would probably give them nightmares too!!!
