Well its the first year for me with this one. I wanted a climber, but a friend bought this one for my birthday and it is a bush, but apparently it gets to 4 ft. so I shall love it anyway.

It will get to at least 4 feet Cinders. Mine is a bush also but last year it had put out 7 or 8 foot canes. And that's after being killed back to about 6" by the winter. Austin roses, IMHO, tend to take two or three years to really get established and then they suddenly take off. Gertrude, in my garden, is a lovely, vigorous, dependable rose. And the perfume.....Outstanding. I'm sure you will enjoy her.

Oh thats lovely Gilli, thank you very much for that info. I am sure I shall be happy with it then, as I have placed it next to my arbor, where I shall sit when the weather improves. Its really cold and windy today.

I know, I used to have loads years ago, then most of them got blackspot which just got worse and I got rid of them and said I wouldnt have them again, but hey ho, I am going that way again. Can't resist them. Treating them a lot more this time round.
