unknown pond plant

i have no idea what this plant is or were we got it
every spring it puts up shoots like asparagus with a pink blob on the top and the giant leaves grow so fast.
iv cut them all off and two weeks later its like this again.
suvived the winter just sitting there very bare.
very easy to propogate, pull off a chung of fat root and stick it into some wet soil and its off again.
