I found I could only count on Tarragon for three years...then it just disappeared..poof!

Hmmm...I might go check if it is still coming up at my old place. I trim it to about three or four inches to the ground. And mulch. This one got no care and came back. My last was 3 or 4 feet tall, and round, really got huge!

ha...that's my southland complacency...should have been more attentive with the approach of winter...but I like stuff that doesn't need extra attention and figure if it isn't going to make it..c'est la vie. I think I got that from gardening in the north... I tried lots of different plants and flowers some, like the delphiniums loved the climate and thrived...others lived the season and died out. (big shrug)

Definately. We have many plants we treat as annuals up here that no one else does....lol. I am all about winter prep these days, I had all my herbs come back from a mulch one year, some from their own seed, that is just not usual up here. I cold framed the bed that year as well.
