Digging Wasps?

Are these some type of wasp. Never heard of a digging wasp before.

Thanks for the advice. Have now been told they are Ground Bees. Halictus family. Still going to be careful whatever they are. Cant believe how good they are at digging tho. They are like moles with wings (only a lot smaller thank god). Hope you and your dog make a full and speedy recovery. Thank you for taking the time to look at this. Take care. Keith. xx

Keith have you read my blog "wasps" I can assure you they do dig underground or inhabit vole/mouse holes. They like to dig under paving stones. Last year we had a small colony of wasps in our garden wall, they had eaten their way in through a old screw hole and made it bigger.
My neighbour had to pay £40.00 to have a nest destroyed under her front doorstep in May.
Not a fan at the moment. Please be careful when disturbing them if they think they are being attacked they are really vicious. I am still in a lot of pain from my experience last night. Luckily Sol my golden retriever has made a full recovery.
