It is only about 24" high so far, but no, I don't cut back any of my clematis - too scared of doing them harm I guess!

That's lovely, I have had a Comtesse de bouchard for over 10 years and find it has a very long flowering period and lots of them. I cut mine down to the ground every year do you?
