Thanks - I'm hoping to get another one for another area of the garden, now I've seen the colour!
Homebird, maybe the camera has lightened it up a bit?

That looks the same colour as mine, but my Mum's looks a bit darker. This lovely rose has been very popular this year on GOY hasn't it! Unsurprisingly!

I love it. I've chosen it and six others (all different, but in the same 'band' of colour tones) to go in the space where the juniper came out. I'm going to order them on-line today. :-))

Oooh, that will be lovely, and different from your other colour schemes!
20 Jul, 2011
Yes, very. I ordered them today. They should all be here by next week. I'm also adding Achillea 'Terracotta', and a border of Lavandula 'Hidcote' at the top edge. Geranium 'Rozanne' at the bottom, to mingle with the existing Clematis 'Gypsy Queen'.
Can you visualise all that? :-))))
20 Jul, 2011
Indeed I can...it will be fab!

The Fryers roses came today - all good sized very healthy plants, and lots of buds. 'Tawny Tiger' even has a small flower! I've set them out on the bank - I suspect I'll have to get something else apart from the other three roses - that space is simply HUGE! Hmmmm...what...Heleniums? Something 'spiky' like Veronicastrum?

You will come up with something lovely B! Glad the roses are good. Will keep Fryers in mind for future, although I really don't think there will be more rose purchases here....unless for pots! :)

They sent a catalogue with the roses, and there are some lovely ones in there. They sell a few David Austin ones, but mostly, the roses are what I think of as a 'rose' shape, not quartered with lots and lots of petals. I admit that I prefer those! The very 'petally' ones aren't my favourites.
'Tawny Tiger' has another flower - I'll post the photo. :-)

A most unusual colour, like it. Looking forward to seeing the planted up bed.
26 Jul, 2011
I have the other roses now - and more 'fill-in' plants, as well. It's planting time now. :-))
27 Jul, 2011
what a lovely colour. I can visiualise your plans and they 'look' lovely. an assest to your planting schemes.

I think it'll look lovely in late summer, but I'll miss the green Juniper in the winter. It can't be helped, though - it was dead. :-((((
27 Jul, 2011
It's very nice, has it got a scent?
31 Jul, 2011
Yesss!!!!! They all have. Isn't that good! I've just posted the blog.
31 Jul, 2011
How lovely! That is a 'must have' in that case!
31 Jul, 2011
Did you see 'Tawny Tiger'? I think it's great - it might not be to everyone's taste though - and that also has a scent!
31 Jul, 2011
I liked the look of tawny tiger - perhaps you could plant it amongst leopard grass!?
I love plants that have scent.

Hmmm...Not sure Henry would like other animals in 'his' garden. LOL.
I shall have plenty of scent, what with eleven Lavenders and seven scented roses! :-D)

I've no idea when it came onto the market, Sticki. I shall look into that. Maybe the catalogue might tell me?
