That is an interesting white marking on it - almost like a fleur de'lil.

It's a female Garden Cross spider. I have a male and a female in my album. May I ask, what kind of camera do you use, my camera hates close ups.

We use a Panasonic DMC-LZ2, which we purchased in 2005. We chose it because it was an affordable point and shoot with 6x optical zoom and image stabilization, as well as allowing a close up of 5cm, which according to specs is the same as your S730.
My advice is to always hike up the quality of the image, and turn off the digital zoom to avoid the temptation of over-zooming and ruining the image quality. And of course, take pictures in the best light possible.

hmm, maybe I can get good pictures without zoom and use my computer for what it's good for. hmm. either way, I can't catch details like those with my camera. amazing.
