young plants in my very dry back border. This bed has undergone enormous work this summer. Believe it or not, under that soil there was a 40ft run of iron sheeting, buried into a foot of concrete that i cut and hammered out over 2 months.

sorry everyone, this is a before picture. ..the after picture looks worse at the moment as it is just bare soil.....on this shot you can just make out the breeze blocks hiding the iron sheeting that went down 5ft into concrete. Don't know why it was there. All i know is that i spent a fortune hiring cutters and jack hammers. Will post a shot of the border mid-way through clearing.
