This is part of a new border now in its second year. The red penstemon is garnet and has just flowered its heart out all summer. The sisryinchiums just seeded themselves there and I left them because I liked the spiky foliage. I may leave them, but may just cut the flowers off because the intention was to plant just pinks, reds, blues and purples in this border. Havn"t had the heart to pull them out/transplant them ... yet!!

Thx Bloomer. I need to update this photo as it now looks completely different! The plant in front of the penstemon is a rudbeckia cherry brandy. It is now twice the size and just full of flower. Ive tried taking some cuttings but having trouble finding a stem without a flower on it. Gorgeous colour !!!
