New Perennial Beds and River Stone Border

New Perennial Beds and River Stone Border

I gathered river stone this year for these new beds framing the steps to the lower garden. They are very bright when wet, very interesting. I'm glad to live somewhere I can just go and gather this kind of thing. The Rose Tree of China (prunus triloba) takes center stage, really grown so much this year.

I love those river stones; we have some coloured slate in a wall around our garden ~ i love to see how it changes in the wet ~ sadly we had to buy it ~ i cant collect stone like that round here.

Thank you. I didn't realize til now I haven't posted the other of the river stone beds. I rushed off looking for shots from the other camera. Slate sounds lovely. Nice deep colors. I'll get the other bed posted so this title is a bit more sensible. lol

Yes it does look good, I have a lot of stone, slate and pebbles in my garden, some I admit were treasures picked up on daytrips over my lifetime, not really allowed to collect anymore but I always seem to find a pebble in my pocket if I`ve been to the beach (naughty)
I still have the first rock I ever collected, it came from The Great Orme in Llandudno August 1961,its on my beach area in front of my pond...
