Black widow spider

Aren't those supposed to be dangerous??

I was always told that they could kill you, when I was a kid. There have been fatalities related to bites. but it's not common. Not one to pick up and handle though :)

My brother-in-law lives in the hills above LA and he has them. It makes me nervous when we are there with my boys. The last house he owned had tarantulas. I like the spiders here in Seattle a lot better!

THat there looks like a male black widow. It's got the shape alright, but the hourglass is missing so I assume it's a male.

It's a female MGM. The red hourglass is there. I'll see if I can't find a closeup :)

yeah, I just zoomed in on it. it does have the hour glass. I guess I just couldn't see it before. Though, it's definitely a black widow.
