LOL... Sandra: I have a pic of her (and it is entitled Mamman) from last year. I know it's hard to see detail but the sculpture has an egg sack on her abdomen! I've often wondered why a spider on the plaza? but..I guess it's art for Art's sake...lol.

Dear God, I would have nightmares for years if I saw that in reality instead of a photo!

LOL...Tet! the boring side of her is the engineering involved in constructing something in bronze that will stand on those spindly looking legs through rain, heat and tempest! pretty amazing...hmmm.. gives me some ideas for a gazebo design maybe? seriously...her feet appear to rest on the paving...no sign of anchors or foundation....it's quite amazing.

Speaking only for myself, Homebird...I wouldn't want it even if I could carry it! I think the sculptor may have taken some inspiration from a local junkyard who constructed a "spider" from a VW beetle and steel girders. I'm sure there are pics all over the internet of like minded Junksters! lol... Ottawa has another piece of whimsical sculpture ...we have a Sir Galahad. It has quite a story attached to it.
